Student Policies

Class Refund Policy:

Students are entitled to a full refund only if DareDevil Improv cancels an entire class session. In the rare event that a class session is canceled, students have the option to a full refund or to roll over their registration to the next scheduled session.

If the class has already begun, and a student can no longer attend class, they have the option to make up the missed classes in a future session. 

In the event that a student is asked to leave the class due to behavior issues, no refund will be given. Don't be a dick.

Behavior & Intoxication Policies:

We want our students to be at their most creative, witty, and authentic selves during class time, and to ensure a positive and enjoyable learning environment for everyone, we require that students do not consume any intoxicating drugs or alcohol before or during their class. If a student is visibly intoxicated or unable to satisfactorily participate, they will be asked to sit and only observe that week's class. 

We strive to create a supportive, safe and inclusive environment for everyone in our classes. We know that due to the creative nature of improvisation, and the exploration of a student's comedic "voice" in the class environment, there are times when material or words are used that may make students uncomfortable. When these moments arrive, we use them as teaching moments to ensure trust and support amongst our classmates. If a feeling arises after the event in class, or if a student is not comfortable addressing an event in the moment, students may reach out anytime to Adrian, Chad or Daisy to share their concerns via email, text, or Discord.

That being said, we will not tolerate any violent, threatening, sexual, racist, homophobic, transphobic or demeaning actions/language toward another student. 

Students who violate this policy may be removed from the class session without refund at our discretion. Don't be a dick.

Performer Expectations

DareDevil Improv offers a professional comedy experience to our patrons. To ensure that we present the highest quality shows and events, we ask that performers make responsible choices concerning intoxicating drugs and alcohol. You know your limits, but if we can tell you have blown past them by being visibly intoxicated or unable to perform at your best, performers may be removed from the show immediately and may forfeit their ability to perform again. 

The show producer reserves the right to remove any performer who appears visibly intoxicated or unable to perform. Multiple instances may result in removal from your House Team/Performance group.

We will not tolerate any violent, threatening, sexual, racist, homophobic, transphobic or demeaning actions/language toward another performer.

Many of our performance opportunities require practice with a paid coach. This is a requirement and not optional. The commitment level of the team or show will be outlined upfront. If you cannot commit or start to show a lack of commitment you may be asked to leave the team, show or opportunity.

We expect all of our DareDevil players to be good representatives of DareDevil Improv and to be positive and professional while representing DareDevil and treat everyone: fellow performers, students, venues and our audience with respect at all times.
